REGINE MOWILL (Norway)
Passionate about both hula hooping and yoga, Regine's first encounter with yoga was at the age of 19 with asthanga yoga at a community center off Portobello Road, London in 1998. Initially an exploration of the physical space the body and limbs occupied, balance, stamina and a sense of being grounded attracted her to it. It was a great thing to do between art school projects. But as life will have it with all its distractions it was not until 2014 her practice became regular. In Amsterdam she fell in love with the more playful vinyasa flow and completed her Yoga Alliance certified RYT 200 hrs with Frog Lotus Yoga in Bali and is currently studying towards RYT 500. When she discovered hoop dance, yoga felt very complimentary. Moving meditation, flow, balance, flexibility, evening out those rights and lefts and warming up wrists and shoulders. Join her for a morning vinyasa practice inspired by both ashtanga and yin yoga.
RIVER HOOP 2019 WORKSHOP:
Workshop: Skeletal variation and range of motion.
We all have a unique skeleton that affects our range of movements. We will do a number of exercises to compare our skeletons and check the differences between our individual ranges of motion of i.e. Our neck, ankles, and hips. We will also see how this affects our yoga poses (also applicable to everyday movement), and why poses that are easy for some are impossible/injurious for others and vice versa and why there is no perfect pose.
Morning yoga: vinyasa flow
Short pranayama (breathing) session followed by a gentle vinyasa flow to awaken joints, (wrists, shoulders, hips, toes) and the spine. Some seated, supine and standing poses. Vinyasa yoga include flowing movements with typically one movement per breath, but we will also include some longer held poses when stretching.
Evening yoga: yin yoga
Longer held poses 3-5 minutes, with minimal muscle engagement targeting deeper tissues and bones/joints. Slow deep stretches and gentle therapeutic pressure to strengthen the target area and release blockages.

Reginina strast sta tako hooping kakor joga. Pri devetnajstih letih, leta 1998, je spoznala asthanga jogo v skupnostnem centru na Portobello Road v Londonu. Sprva so jo pritegnili raziskovanje prostora, ki ga zasedajo telo in udi, ravnotežje, vztrajnost in občutje, da stoji na tleh. Joga je bila nekaj, kar je lahko počela med dvema šolskima projektoma. Naneslo pa je, da je s prakso joge redno začela šele leta 2014. V Amsterdamu se je zaljubila v bolj igrivo vinyaso ter pridobila certifikat Yoga Alliance RYT 200 pri Frog Lotus Yoga na Baliju; trenutno se pripravlja na RYT 500. Ko je odkrila hoop dance, se ji je zdelo, da ga joga lepo dopolnjuje. Meditacija v gibanju, tok, ravnotežje, gibčnost, usklajevanje leve in desne ter ogrevanje zapestij in ramen. Pridružite se ji na jutranji praksi vinyase, za katero navdih črpa iz ashtanga in yin joge.
